Refined (where you are fined with health)


Words are powerful; clever minds use specific words to make things appealing and healthy. In bodybuilding, athletes who use steroids are termed as Enhanced but not Unnatural, in the same way, food, which are refined appeals to be healthy-

instead, such foods should be termed as Distorted as by refining foods such as fats and carbs, it reduces the food’s fiber content and robs food of essential vitamins & minerals. Fats are hydrogenated to increase their shelf life & such hydrogenated oils are used in biscuits, namkeen, pasty, mayonnaise, and almost all processed foods It causes heart attacks, diabetes, obesity & hormonal imbalances Indian way of cooking has been tried and tested for ages, the way we cook food reduces the Glycemic index of food and the way we process our food also removes antinutrient properties in certain food, then the question arises as to why India is turning out to be diabetes & obesity capital of the world? It is because we are eating more from the packets we have forgotten our roots and the way food was prepared in different regions of our country according to region-specific millets, grains, vegetables, and fruits. Hunger is suppressed by caffeinated drinks, cigarettes, tea  & biscuits, etc.; despite nurturing our bodies with good nutrition, we are torturing ourselves with quick weight loss diets, which are nothing but like get rich, quick scams. we have forgotten our time-tested dadi nani’s wisdom of food preparation.
